Eric Paul McNiece, 86, of Carrollton, passed away Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 19, 2006, at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton, with Rev. Willie Harlow officiating. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. before the service. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Carrollton. The family suggests contributions be made to First Christian Church Carrollton, or the American Diabetes Association. He was born Sept. 19, 1920, in Tremont, Miss., the son of Eric A. and Arvilla Silas McNiece. He attended school in Tremont. On April 12, 1941, he was married to Dorothy Borden in Maquoketa, Iowa. She survives at the home. He was retired from Banner Biscuit Company where he was a foreman. He was a member of the First Christian Church of Carrollton, Carrollton V.F.W. Post No. 1773, and a charter member of the Carrollton Country Club. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Marla Dillon and husband Michael of Marshall; one sister-in-law, Jerri McNiece of Carrollton; one grand-daughter, Diane Blevins, Lawton, Okla.; and five great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Brittany, Lindsey, Loren and Jasen Gluck; two nieces and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, L.D. and Garvin Mc Niece; an infant sister; a grandson, Jeffery Allen Dillon; and a great-grandson, Zachary Chance Gluck.
