Thelma Sue Womack, 64, formerly of Wakenda, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2006, at Carroll County Memorial Hospital.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 14, 2006, at Pleasant Park Cemetery, Carrollton, with Rev. Ken Prewitt officiating. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at Gibson Funeral Home, Carrollton. The family suggests contributions be made to the family's choice. She was born Feb. 13, 1942, in Marshall, the daughter of Clyde and Nora Moore Mitchell. She attended Marshall public schools. On Sept. 16, 1958, she married Donald Womack in Marshall. He preceded her in death on Dec. 5, 1983. Thelma attended the Wakenda Baptist Church and Wakenda P.T.A. She had worked for Orbseal in Carrollton and Richmond.
She is survived by four children, Diana George and husband Mike of Carrollton, Donnie Womack and wife Eva of Waverly, Doug Womack and wife Roxie of Wakenda, Denise Stottlemyre and husband Steve of Carrollton; two brothers, Harold Mitchell of Independence and Rick Mitchell of Harrisonville; one sister, Linda Brotherton of Marshall; step-mother, Doris Mitchell; four grandchildren, Chayne Womack of Wakenda, Sarah Womack of Waverly, Donnie Wayne Womack of Waverly and Kaleb Stottlemyre of Carrollton; step-grandchildren, David George and wife Sue of Carrollton, and Chris George of Carrollton; one great- granddaughter, Tavia Charlton of Carrollton; and two great-step-grandsons, Derek Richardson of Carrollton and Jarin George of Carrollton.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Nora Mitchell; one grandson, Robert Morehead; and two sisters, Wanda Bartshe and Betty Gilpin.
