Laura B. Cox, 98, of St. Joseph, died Friday, Sept. 22, 2006, at Carriage Square Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Sept. 29, 2006, at St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church. Interment was at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family suggests memorial gifts to St. Joseph Cathedral Catholic Church or Hands of Hope Hospice.
She was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Victor A. and Barbara (Fousek) Lawrence. She resided in St. Joseph most of her life. She married Perry Lee Cox on Aug. 14, 1926. He preceded her in death. She was employed for many years at the United Department Store, and then worked for Banquet Foods as a production supervisor in Marshall.
She was a member of the American Business Women's Association Pony Express for many years. She was also a member of Ladies Auxiliary FRA Unit 379 in St. Joseph.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 11 brothers and sisters.
