Clara B. McAfee, 82, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, 2006, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall. Rev. Dave Huck and William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association or Marshall Senior Center c/o Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Aug. 8, 1924, in Shackelford, she was the daughter of the late Edwin C. Krumsiek and Agnes Huyett Krumsiek. She was a 1942 graduate of Marshall High School. On Aug. 24, 1979, she married Lee R. "Mac" McAfee who preceded her in death on Aug. 18, 2005. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and had worked at Southwestern Bell, International Shoe Co. and then at ConAgra Foods retiring after 29 years of service. She was a member of First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Conny Ahrens and wife, Elaine, of Blue Springs, Darrell Ahrens and wife, Marilyn, of rural Marshall and Tim Ahrens and wife, Tence, of Pilot Grove; three daughters, Doris Williams and husband, Richard, of Harrisonville, Pam Gulley and husband, Roy, of London, Ark. and Vicki Leslie of Marshall; two stepdaughters, Gail King of rural Sweet Springs and Billie Slagerman of Ozark, Ark; one stepson, Larry Burkard of Paris, Ark.; 11 grandchildren; one step-grandson; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her stepmother, Lois Krumsiek, one grandson, Mick Williams, and one brother, Robert Krumsiek.
