Alvin L. "Bob" Knox, 80, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Dr. N. Paul Callahan will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery in Slater. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church.
Born Aug. 6, 1926, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Charles Victor Knox and Emma Grace Finley Knox. On April 19, 1970, in Marshall, he married Margaret Forqueran, who survives. He had lived in Slater for 10 years before moving back to Marshall. He was a retired truck driver and a Baptist. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
Additional survivors include three sons, Curtis Alvin Knox of Florence, Ariz., Ronnie Dean Knox of Boonville and Kenneth Dale Knox of Boonville; two daughters, Treva Lynn Stephens of Glendale, Ariz. and LaVonda Sullivan of Kenosha, Wis.; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Charles, Ed, Clarence and Floyd Knox; one sister, Alice Parrack; and one stepson, James L. Guthrie.
