Jerry W. Johnson, 67, of Phoenix, Ariz., formerly of Missouri, died Friday, Sept. 1, 2006, at John C. Lincoln Hospital in Phoenix, Ariz. after a short illness.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m,, Sept. 7, 2006, at Best Funeral Home, Phoenix, Ariz. with a memorial to celebrate his life on Friday, Sept. 8, at 10 a.m. at Mountain View Baptist Church in Phoenix.
He was born in Malta Bend on March 18, 1939, a son of Horton L. and Ila Mae Johnson Fitzgerald.
He graduated from Nelson High School in 1957 where he played on the basketball team. He worked for many years at Honeywell in Phoenix, retiring in July of 2005.
He is survived by his wife Mary; his two children, Tim Johnson of Glendale, Ariz. and Cindy Sanders of Chandler, Ariz.; his sister, Joyce Wirths of Pilot Grove; six grandchildren; a niece; a nephew and several cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two grandsons.
