Grace K. Anderson, 99, of Slater, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. Robert Sisney will officiate. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Slater in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 16, 1906, in Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late Edgar Edward Ballowe and Rosa Lee Heinzler Ballowe. In 1923, she married George G. Anderson, who preceded her in death in 1974. She had lived in Slater most of her life where she had worked at Town and Country Shoe and was a homemaker. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater, where she had the longest membership of any current living member, and had been active in several of its organizations and activities. She was also a member of The Flower Club.
Survivors include six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; one sister, Emily Degroodt of Lebanon; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Donald and Jerry Anderson; one daughter, Jean Anderson Miller; and two sisters, Lucille Dye and Hildegard Ballowe.
