Carolyn Martin, 76, of Marshall, died Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Fitzgibbon Cancer Center.
Born March 16, 1930, in Pilot Grove, she was the daughter of the late Eugene Paxton and Mildred Schlotzhauer Paxton. On June 10, 1950, she married Norbert B. Martin, who preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 2005. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, where she was a member of the choir, Altar & Rosary Society and Daughters of Isabella. She was a member of Marshall Community Chorus and the Patchwork Quilters Guild.
Survivors include her children, Tim Martin and wife Susan of Marshall, Linda Murdock and husband Larry of rural Marshall, Nancy Redford of Colorado Springs, Colo., Pat Martin of Marshall, Mary Branum and husband Richard of Jefferson City, Ted Martin and wife Janet of Columbia, Amy Martin of Tonganoxie, Kan.; five grandchildren, Erika Martin, Angie Rinehart, Suzanne Siems, Jason Rinne and Natalie Martin; three step-grandchildren, Craig Branum, Charles Branum, and Ashley Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Colby Rinehart and Lindsay Rinehart; one brother, Bill Paxton of Marshall Junction; one sister, Jean Twilling of Tulsa, Okla.; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Richard Paxton.
