Mildred L. Scarborough, 87, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2006, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Family Choice.
Born Jan. 20, 1919, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Lee Yates and Marguerita Johanna Slister Yates. She married Vernon Reynolds Sr. who preceded her in death. On April 8, 1943, she married Everette Burns Scarborough Sr. who preceded her in death Nov. 6, 1973. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and had worked at Kraft Foods, Stampers and was a homemaker.
Survivors include five daughters, Margaret Reynolds of Marshall, Gladys Jordan of Gilliam and Pat Wilckens, Nancy VanBuskirk and Judy Frakes all of Marshall; six sons, Vernon "Junior" Reynolds of Windsor, Raymond "Tom" Scarborough, George "Rusty" Scarborough, Daniel Scarborough, Tim Scarborough and Jim Scarborough all of Marshall; 41 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Joseph Yates of Marshall; one sister, Ruth Samuels of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by four sons, two daughters and two sisters.
