W. L. "Bill" Schuster, 82, of Overland Park, Kan., formerly of Blackwater, died Aug. 30, 2006, at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 2, 2006, at Olathe Christian Church in Olathe, Kan. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Old Lamine Cemetery in Cooper County. He was born Jan. 9, 1924, to Elmer and Francis Kincaid Schuster in Blackwater. He graduated from Blackwater High and attended college in Terre Haute, Ind. In 1942, he joined the Army and was discharged some four years later in January of 1946.
He married Mildred Heuman on March 23, 1946. He served as an church elder through the years. He served in the Johnson County Christian Church, the Country Hills Christian Church, and most recently he was involved with Olathe Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife; by two daughters, Karen Opperman and Sherry Rush; six grandsons and one granddaughter; one brother, Kenny Schuster; and four sisters, Mattie Weiss, Mary Crawford, Dorothy Davis and Edna Epperson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Elmer, Robert, Ernest, Henry, and Morris; one sister: Margaret Thomas, and two daughters: Cheryl Lynn and Cindy.
