Jimmie Lyle Jones, 75, of Marshall, formerly of Nelson, died Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 24, 2006, at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. Don Simmons will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to New Salem Baptist Church.
Born April 20, 1931, in Nelson, he was the son of the late James Lee Jones and Dorothy Petrie Jones. He was a graduate of Nelson High School. On Oct. 26, 1952, at Heath Creek Baptist Church, he married Janice Lee Cunningham, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall the past five years moving from Nelson and was a farmer. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church at Marshall Junction.
Additional survivors include four sons, Danny Lyle Jones and wife, Priscilla, of St. Louis, Ronnie Dale Jones and companion, Bonnie, of Marshall, Randy Dean Jones and wife, Pam, of Nelson and James Lee Jones and wife, Christy, of Blue Springs; 10 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Wanda Elsea of Marshall and Lena Hayes of Blue Springs; one brother, Vernon Jones of Nelson; stepmother, Flossie Jones of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Joyce Lee Jones, and two grandsons, David Jones and Chris Jones.
