Bertha A. Hayob, 109, of Marshall, died Friday, Aug. 18, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 21, 2006, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Fr. Kevin Gormley and Rev. Joe Mitchell officiated. Visitation was held from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers were Larry Hayob, Gene Hayob, Mark Hayob, Tom Mullin, Greg Mullin, Dan Mullin and John Mullin. Memorials may be made to St. Peter Catholic Church in the care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.

Born July 31, 1897, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late John Schieszer and Mary Sophie Ridderman Schieszer. On Sept. 15, 1920, she married John Henry Hayob who preceded her in death May 15, 1955. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church, its Altar & Rosary Society and Daughters of Isabella. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and several bridge clubs.

Survivors include two sons, Harold Hayob and wife, Katie, of Shawnee Mission, Kans. and Robert Hayob of Marshall; one daughter, Rosemary Mullin and husband, Tom of Hoffman Estates, Ill.; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Louis Schieszer, and three sisters, Clara Carroll, Rosa Castle and Marguerite Schieszer.
