Gregory Aiken Smith

Gregory Aiken Smith, 57, of Pleasant Valley, died at his home on Aug. 18, 2006, as a result of complications related to diabetes. Smith, a former Marshall resident, is survived by his wife, Rhonda; daughter, Julia and three grandchildren, all of Kansas City. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Judge Bruce T. and Mary A. Smith of Raleigh, N.C.; and seven cousins.

He was predeceased by his father, Capt. Leonard B. "Tuck" Smith, USN, and his mother, Dorothy Aiken Smith, late of Marshall. He was the grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. George A. Aiken of Marshall.

He was born June 2, 1949, at the Willows Maternity Sanitarium in Kansas City. He graduated from Marshall High School in 1968 and attended Missouri Valley College before embarking on his business life at a variety of occupations in the Kansas City metropolitan area.
