Dr. Evan Max Eddy, 84, of West Lafayette, Ind., died Saturday Aug. 12, 2006, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. Born in Slater, Oct. 21, 1921, he was the son of Osmond B. and Lina Caroline Harris Eddy. He married Alice Marcile Francis on May 15, 1948 in Harrisonville, Ark., and she survives of the home.
Also surviving are a brother William "Bill" Eddy and a sister Josephine Bridges both of Slater. Sons, Michael, Steven and Robert of West Lafayette, Ind., Mark of Georgetown, Ky. and Chris of Troy, Mich.; 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews of this area.
He is preceded in death by two brothers, Paul and D.L. and two sisters, Mary Thomas and Minnie Pearl Stacey.
Dr. Eddy was the head of the Industrial Arts Department Purdue University until his retirement in 1991.
