Dorothy J. "Dottie" Gorman, 74, of Concordia, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, Aug. 13, 2006, at the Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2006, at the Lutheran Good Shepherd Home Chapel in Concordia.
Born Oct. 23, 1931, in Nowata, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Noah Howerton and Annie Reifsteck Howerton. On Nov. 23, 1947, she married Harold Wade Gorman, who preceded her in death June 30, 2003. She had lived in Concordia since 2002 moving from Warsaw. She had lived in Colorado Springs, Colo., from 1953 to 2000 and had lived in Marshall many years ago. She was a member of Sunnyside Christian Church in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Survivors include four children: Charol Messenger of Denver, Colo., Steve Gorman of Colorado Springs, Colo., Joanne Crabb of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Melinda Gorman of Vail, Colo.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Ruth McFarland of Salida, Colo.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Grace Hutcherson and Elizabeth Brown, and four brothers, O.E. "Gunzel" Howerton, Louis "Bud" Howerton, Tom Howerton and Noah "Junior" Howerton, Jr.
