Albert Russell "Russ" Harriman, Jr., 70, of Ashland, formerly of Malta Bend, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2006, at Poudre Valley Hospital in Fort Collins, Colo.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2006, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m., Friday at First Baptist Church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall with military rites. Memorials may be made to the Missouri Cattlemen's Association. Memorials are in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born May 11, 1936, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Albert Russell Harriman, Sr. and Dorothy Pemberton Harriman. In 1957, he married Brenda Bolte. On Jan. 20, 1979, he married Georgia Lois Shelnutt who survives of the home. He had lived in Ashland since 1979, moving from Malta Bend, and was a farmer/cattleman. He was a graduate of Slater High School and the University of Missouri-Columbia where he was a member of the FarmHouse Fraternity. He was a member of Malta Bend United Methodist Church, National Cattlemen's Association, had served as executive secretary for the Missouri Cattlemen's Association and had served as CEO for the Texas Longhorn Breeders Association of America. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1959 to 1962 and was a lifetime member of the Ashland V.F.W. Post.
Additional survivors include five children, Michelle Harriman Pointer and husband, Terry, of rural Marshall, Bradley Russell Harriman and wife, Brenda, of Marshall, Kristin Harriman Moser and husband, Mark, of rural Waverly, Roseanne Elaine Clouser of Ashland and Jeanine Davis and husband, Mike, of Holts Summit; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, Robert E. Harriman of Montrose and Jack Harriman of rural Malta Bend; and several nieces and nephews.
