Etta Mae White

Etta Mae White, 89, of Slater died Thursday. Aug. 3, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall. Funeral services were held 2 p.m. Monday, Aug. 7, 2006, at the Second Baptist Church in Slater with Rev. Horace Hopkins officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Friends called at the H.T. May and Son Funeral Home in Marshall.

Etta White was born Feb. 13, 1917, in Dalton. The daughter of Festus and Clara Shepard Guy, she was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Slater. She retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center. She was married to Rev. Moses White and he preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters, Anna Mae Wright of Slater and Joann Eubanks of Boonville; three sons, Henry White of Marshall, F. Jonathan White of St. Louis and Alphonso White of Tucson Ariz.; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
