Gloria Ann Wightman, 80, of Marshall, died Thursday, July 27, 2006, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Rev. Mike Brown will officiate. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Mt. Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City. The pallbearers are Scott Carter, Todd Carter, Erick Olson, Kristjan Olson, Kyle Olson and Kurt Olson. Memorials may be made to Fitzgibbon-Mary Montgomery Hospice or Family Choice.
Born July 22, 1926, in Springfield, Ill., she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. Burns and Anna G. Weers Burns. On June 11, 1976, she married William J. (Bill) Wightman, who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall the last two years moving from Tucson, Ariz., and had also lived in Shawnee and Leawood, Kan. from 1958 to 1976. She retired as a bank examiner for Great American Bank. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall and was also a member of Franklin D. Roosevelt Ladies Auxiliary.
Additional survivors include two sons, Larry Olson of Wichita, Kan., and Jeffrey Olson of Overland Park, Kan.; one daughter, Linda Carter of Marshall; one stepdaughter Beverly Knight of Tucson, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; one step-granddaughter; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Elmer D. Burns.
