Doris F. Sample, 63, of Slater, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at the Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 10 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Slater. Rev. David L. Duncan will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Matthew Norton as he sings "Amazing Grace". Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Matthew Norton, David Morton, Brice Hurst, Ryan Sample, Donald Ballew and John Kothenbeutel. Visitation will be from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Assocation.
Born Jan. 21, 1943, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late James L. and Clara Ruark Taylor. She was married to Kenneth Morton and he survives of Slater. On Jan. 21, 1990, in Slater, she married Joseph E. Sample and he survives of the the home.
Also surviving is a son, Tim Morton of Grain Valley; three daughters, Kelly Morton of Marshall, Darla Hemeyerof of rural Slater; a step-son, Brian Sample of Slater; two step-daughters, Laura Rowland of Slater and Joanee Hurst of Sedalia; 16 grandchlldren; four great-grandchildren; four brothers, Keith Taylor of Belton, Benjamin Taylor of Harrisonville, Logan Taylor of Tucson, Ariz. and James Taylor of Brookline Station; and three sisters, Lois Clark of Slater, Cara Boggs of Novinger and Margaret Kothenbuetel of Battlefield. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Taylor and a sister, Frances Taylor.
