Paul Jensen, Marshall Municipal Utilities general manager, reported that there were several power outages in Marshall due to the storm. Power was lost in the east part of Marshall, when a large maple tree fell on East Eastwood street, taking down power lines and damaging several poles.
The outage affected approximately 300 customers around Indian Foothills Park, Eastwood Street from Lincoln East, and Monatgue Hill. Power was restored to the area where the tree fell at around 9:30 p.m., with Montague Hill power being restored at 11:15 p.m..
Most of Eastwood street was back on by 2 a.m., Friday, July 14, and the last few customers had service returned at around 4 a.m.
A limb also fell and knocked out power on W. Slater Street, this outage affecting parts of north Marshall between Miami and Lincoln streets. The power outage affected approximately 900 customers. Service was returned at around 10:30 p.m.
Several isolated power outages were reported. Limbs were down on E. Rosehill and S. Brunswick streets. A street light was also taken down by a large tree on Redwing.
The storm also affected most of Saline County. Trees and limbs were reported down in Slater and power was lost in Sweet Springs.
