She was the daughter of the late William Covington Burch and Jessie Litteral Burch. She attended Lindenwood College, St. Charles, Mo. for two years and was a graduate of the University of Missouri, Columbia, where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority. She was a teacher at Eugene Field School, Carthage, Mo., for two years. She married Henry Hook Harris Jr. on July 2, 1932, who preceded her in death Jan. 4, 1990. She also had two siblings, Mary Louise Waggoner and William Covington Burch, Jr., who preceded her in death.
She was a 75-year member of P.E.O. and past president of Chapter GM; a member of First United Methodist Church since 1932; served in the Fitzgibbon Hospital Auxiliary and a former member of Monday Club.
Halcyon is survived by her daughter, Mary Anne Wulfsberg, Prairie Village, Kansas; son Henry Hook Harris IV and wife Leigh, Scottsdale, Ariz.; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter and one niece.
Memorial services will be held at First United Methodist Church, Marshall, Mo., on Saturday, July 8 at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Dave Huck will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
