George L. Francis, 64, of Birch Tree, formerly of Marshall, died at his home Sunday, June 18, 2006.

Cremation. Interment will be in Hazel Grove Cemetery.

Born Dec. 12, 1941, he was the son of the late Nick and Frances Francis. He was a graduate of Marshall High School and a U.S. Army veteran.

Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Reike of Racine, Wis.; one sister, Virginia Russell of Denham Springs, La.; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Gary W. Francis.
