John Wayne Kearney, 64, of Lawson, died Saturday June 17, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Polley Funeral Home in Lawson. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 20, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lawson Cemetery.
Born Aug. 10, 1941, in Independence, he was the son of the late John S. Kearney and Hazel D. Province Kearney, who survives of Camdenton. On March 18, 1961, he married Teana Stuart, who preceded him in death Oct. 19, 1997. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had worked for General Motors as a millwright for 21 years and attended the Assembly of God church in Lawson.
Survivors include one son, Stuart Kearney of Independence; two daughters, Stacey Douglas of Lawson and Shawnna Baker of Lowrey City; one sister, Ileene Easton of Camdenton; one brother, Warren Kearney of Houstonia; and nine grandchildren.
