Gerald Roberts Harvey, 79, of Marshall, died Thursday, June 1, 2006, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, June 5, at Carroll Memory Gardens in Carrollton. Rev. Doug Franklin officiated. Memorials are suggested to the United Methodist Church of Carrollton or the American Diabetes Association in care of Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Main, Carrollton, Mo. 64633.
Born July 23, 1926, in Ochelata, Okla., he was the son of the late John Thomas Jr. and Sue Roberts Harvey. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He owned and operated the Western Auto store in Carrollton from 1974 to 1976, was involved in the opening of the sheltered workshop in Carrollton and worked there from 1977 to 1980 and was the water plant operator for Carrollton Municipal Utilities from 1988 to 1997. He was a member of Carrollton United Methodist Church. On May 19, 1946, in Westwood, Calif., he married Marian Riley, who preceded him in death Dec. 18, 1993.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Harvey of Marshall and J. Randal Harvey of Lawson; and four grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
