Bonnie E. Palmer, 96, of Slater, died Sunday, May 14, 2006, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Glasgow.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 18, at Winnemucca Cemetery in Winnemucca, Nev. Memorials are suggested to Colonial Manor Nursing Home or the Slater Senior Center in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Sept. 13, 1909, in Blue Ridge, Ga., she was the daughter of the late Jasper and Josephine Bailey Earley. In October 1935 she married Oliver Cromwell Maxwell, who preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1942. On July 7, 1961, she married Reuben Palmer, who preceded her in death Dec. 7, 1975. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Eastern Star and AARP. She worked as a licensed practical nurse in Denver, Colo., Reno, Nev., and Winnemucca, Nev., until her retirement. She had lived in Slater since 1997, moving from Carson City, Nev.
Survivors include two sons, Oliver Maxwell of Resida, Calif., and George Maxwell of Carson City, Nev.; one daughter, Lucy Brandon of Slater; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild; and one stepgreat-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by a brother, Rufus Earley; and one grandson.
