Genevieve F. Curry, 87, formerly of Sedalia, died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 9, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home in Sedalia. Rev. Ronnie Adair will officiate. Pallbearers will be Greg McDowell, Charlie Monteer, B.J. Monteer, Khristofer Todd, Joshua Pittman and William Stathem. Honorary pallbearers will be Milford Monteer, Timmy Monteer, Jermey Pittman and Caleb Stathem. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Monday, May 8, at the funeral home. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Highland Sacred Gardens in Sedalia. Memorials are suggested to the donor's choice.
Born April 29, 1919, in Pettis County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Reed and Lilly Jones Reed. On March 14, 1940, in Sedalia, she married William Joseph Curry, who preceded her in death Aug. 12, 1958. She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Garry Curry of Warsaw and Gerry Curry of Sedalia; one daughter, Beverly Staton of Marshall; 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters, Frances Paxton and Sharon Catalina; three sisters, Jane Curry, Mae Potter and Jewel Gimple; and three brothers, Jim Reed, Clifford Reed and Ralph Reed.
