Horace J. Griffin, 86, of Marshall, died Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at his home.
Memorial graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 8, at Walnut Ridge Cemetery in Armstrong. Rev. Russell P. Johnson will officiate. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born May 6, 1919, at Fayette, he was the son of the late William H. Griffin and Myrtle Wright Griffin. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked at Missouri Power and Light Co. in Mexico and Jefferson City for many years and had then been employed at Standard Haven Steel in Glasgow for several years before his retirement.
Survivors include one son, Randy Griffin Wilson of Moberly; one brother, Elwood Griffin of Moberly; one sister, Dorothy Nelson of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
