Lois E. Collins, 77, of rural Marshall, died Friday, April 28, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pallbearers will be Loyd French, Giles Kiser, Tim Rogers, Mike Knaebel, Andreas Enyart and Yancey Nash. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 1, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse. Memorials are suggested to Salt Fork YMCA or Missouri Special Olympics.
Born Oct. 16, 1928, in Kennedale, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Fletcher Simon Johnson and Bernice Mitchell Johnson. On Feb. 20, 1948, in Forth Worth, Texas, she married R.J. Collins, who preceded her in death Aug. 21, 1996. She had lived in Saline County since 1948, moving from California, and was a member of Hardeman Community Church. She was owner and operator of Collins Pop Shop.
Survivors include two sons, Richard J. Collins Jr. and wife Karin of rural Marshall and Donald J. Collins and wife Angie of rural Marshall; three sisters, June Stafford and husband Lloyd of Fort Worth, Texas, Becky Blan and husband Kenneth of Antlers, Okla., and Gloria Ann Nash of Mansfield, Texas; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Brownie and Barbara French.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Johnson.
