Bertha Huston Dunsworth, 74, of Bay City, Texas, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at St. Joseph Hospital in Houston, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 14, at Calvary Baptist Church in Bay City, Texas. Rev. Melvin Ryman and Rev. Chester Sassman will officiate. Interment will be in Cedarvale Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the charity of choice. Taylor Brothers Funeral Home of Bay City, Texas, is in charge of arrangements.
Born Sept. 25, 1931, in Galesburg, Ill., she was the late Frank Charles and Irene Cordelia McNeece Huston. She had been a resident of Bay City, Texas, since 1953 and was a very active member of the Word of Life Church in Wadsworth, Texas. She was a local artist with paintings all over the United States and in other countries. She loved to travel all over the United States and abroad.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Dunsworth of Bay City; one daughter, Jenifer Evans and husband Adam of Sweeny, Texas; one son, Billy Dunsworth and wife Monica of Kerrville, Texas; two sisters, Lila Bridges and husband Truman and Nancy Hibbard and husband, all of Slater; one brother, Tom Huston and wife Sue of Miami; four grandchildren, Michelle Dunsworth of Kerrville, Sarah Barnes Pearson and husband Mike of Houston, Jeffrey Barnes and Toby Barnes, both of Victoria, Texas; one great-grandson: Michael T. Pearson of Houston; and numerous nieces and nephews.
