Pauline S. Woods, 83, of Kansas City, Kan., formerly of Marshall, died Tuesday, April 11, 2006, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 14, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Malta Bend Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Wyandotte United Methodist Church, 7901 Oakland, Kansas City, KS 66112.
Born March 18, 1923, in Malta Bend, she was the daughter of the late John A. Stobie and Mary Martha Baker Stobie. On Jan. 22, 1944, she married John H. Woods, who preceded her in death Jan. 16, 1990. She had lived in Marshall since 1946, moving from Malta Bend and had moved to Kansas City, Kan., in 1995. She attended Central Methodist College. She had worked at Aiken, Aiken, Lawrence and Roehrs Clinic for 21 years and had worked at the Marshall State School and Hospital for five years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall. She joined the Civil Air Patrol in 1963 and her rank was lieutenant colonel. She was a past CAP squadron commander.
Survivors include two sons, John Stephen Woods and wife Jane of Carpinteria, Calif., and Wayne Stobie Woods and wife Suzanne of Forest Knolls, Calif.; one daughter, June Sharon Roscher and husband Dennis of Kansas City, Kan.; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
