Jo Ann Haynie, 58, of rural Gilliam, died Sunday, April 9, 2006, at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Glasgow.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 12, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. Jess Spurgin will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Betty Moore as she sings "One Day At A Time" and "In The Garden." Pallbearers will be Jeff George, Jerry George, Roy Teckemeyer, Rusty Jackson, Danny England and Paul England. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Gilliam Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the National Leukemia Society.
Born Jan. 1, 1948, in rural Slater, she was the daughter of the late Roy E. Tennill and Alice Berniece Shepard Tennill. On Jan. 1, 1971, in Slater, she married Jackie Haynie, who survives of the home. She was a member of Gilliam United Methodist Church. She was a licensed practical nurse and worked at Big Bend Retreat in Slater and 15 years at Colonial Manor Nursing Home in Glasgow.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jeff George of Glasgow and Jerry George of rural Gilliam; one sister, Donna J. Teckemeyer of Gilliam; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Alice R. Piper.
