Marshall election results given

In Marshall Tuesday, April 4, voters elected one new school board member, re-elected one incumbent to the school board, and returned four incumbents to the city council.

In the Marshall City Council election candidates received votes as follows:

-- Sheila Cook, Ward 1, 322;

-- Vince Lutterbie, Ward 2, 175;

-- Larry Askins, Ward 2, 136;

-- Dan Brandt, Ward 3, 189;

-- Ron Duvall, Ward 4, 118.

In the Marshall Board of Education election candidates received votes as follows:

-- Roger Blakely: 6 absentee, 4 from Blackwater, 1 from Hardeman, 4 from Herndon, 86 from Marshall Ward 1, 63 from Marshall Ward 2, 61 from Marshall Ward 3 and 26 from Marshall Ward 4 for a total of 251 votes;

-- Jeanette Klinge: 19 absentee, 25 from Blackwater, 4 from Hardeman, 2 from Herndon, 196 from Marshall Ward 1, 187 from Marshall Ward 2, 108 from Marshall Ward 3, 73 from Marshall Ward 4 and 4 from Nelson for a total of 616 votes;

-- Larry Godsey: 13 absentee, 18 from Blackwater, 8 from Hardeman, 4 from Herndon, 255 from Marshall Ward 1, 237 from Marshall Ward 2, 142 from Marshall Ward 3, 80 from Marshall Ward 4 and 1 from Nelson for a total of 758 votes;

-- Carl Crawford: 16 absentee, 5 from Blackwater, 2 from Hardeman, 2 from Herndon, 160 from Marshall Ward 1, 160 from Marshall Ward 2, 108 from Marshall Ward 3 and 55 from Marshall Ward 4 for a total of 508 votes;

-- Martin Tichenor: 3 absentee, 16 from Blackwater, 3 from Hardeman, 57 from Marshall Ward 1, 67 from Marshall Ward 2, 50 from Marshall Ward 3, 26 from Marshall Ward 4 and 5 from Nelson for a total of 227 votes.
