Mildred Schick Schuette, 84, of Alma, died Monday, April 3, 2006, at Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma. Pastor Fred Hertwig will officiate. Pallbearers will be Darrin Schick, Brian Schick, Matthew Schick, Justin Schick, Jerone Schick and Jody Schick. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery in Blackburn. Memorials are suggested to Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home.
Born March 1, 1922, in Kansas City, she was the daughter of the late Jake William Thomas and Mabel McElliot Thomas. On Jan. 17, 1942, she married Alfred Schick, who preceded her in death Dec. 24, 1958. She later married Alvin J. Schuette Jr., who preceded her in death Nov. 29, 1993. She had lived in Alma most of her life and was a homemaker. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Alma and a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4288 Auxiliary in Corder.
Survivors include three sons, Robert J. Schick of Oak Grove, John C. Schick of Alma and David L. Schick of Marshall; two sisters, Carmon Finkle and Betty Fry, both of Kansas City; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas W. Schick and Joseph A. Schick; and one sister, Beverly Jean Thomas.
