Earl L. Waters, 77, of Marshall, died Friday, March 31, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 4, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow officiated. Burial was in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Born March 15, 1929, in Carroll County, he was the son of the late George William Waters and Lillie Minnie Bahr Waters. On June 21, 1958, he married Jewell Breshears, who preceded him in death on Jan. 14, 1991. On Feb. 9, 1992, he married Jonnie Butler, who preceded him in death on Dec. 19, 2003. He had lived in Marshall the last two years, moving from Little Rock, Ark., and was a river engineer for Carter Construction for over 40 years. He attended Southside Assembly of God in Marshall and was a former mason.
Survivors include one daughter, Carolyn Auer and husband Danny of Marshall; one son, David M. Williams and wife Theresa of Gilliam; two stepdaughters, Joanie Stofan of Greenbriar, Ark., and Judy Taylor of Little Rock, Ark.; one stepson, Gus Butler of Mabelvale, Ark.; two sisters, Bertha Mae Crank and husband William of Chico, Calif., and Florence M. Pollard and husband Wesley of LaMonte; several grandchildren, stepgrandchildren, great-grandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Beverly Jean Henderson and Janice Williams; and four brothers.
