Joe W. "Bud" Foote, 79, of Marshall, died Monday, March 27, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 30, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be held at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the Salvation Army.
Born June 14, 1926, in Cortez, Colo., he was the son of the late Willie C. Foote and Myrtle Pigg Foote. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran serving in World War II and retiring after 20 years of service. On Nov. 26, 1980, he married Phyllis Ansell Love, who preceded him in death Dec. 31, 1993. He had lived in Marshall most of his life and was employed at Lake City and then was a security guard for many years at the Marshall Habilitation Center.
Survivors include two stepdaughters, Susan Rogers of Marshall and Cynthia Murphy of St. Louis; two stepsons, Dana Love of Jefferson City and Bruce Love of Ft. Campbell, Ky.; one brother, Bill Foote of Cortez, Colo.; four sisters, Ruth Winfrey of Davenport, Iowa, Betty Mueller of Mayview, Esther Lynch of Marshall and Pat Wyett of Independence; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by seven brothers and one sister.
