Moose Dennis Eckhoff, 59, of rural Houstonia, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 17, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs. Rev. Alfred Rodewald will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Thursday, March 16, with visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Bothwell Hospice of Ellis Fischel Hospital.
Born Sept. 22, 1946, in Sweet Springs, he was the son of the late Leonard "Ike" Eckhoff and Gertrude Hackenberger Eckhoff, who survives of Sweet Springs. On Aug. 15, 1974, he married Brenda Weber, who survives of the home. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs and had lived in the Sweet Springs area most of his life. He had worked at Guier Chemical and Fertilizer Company at the time of his death.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Kandy Lynn Hayworth of Sweet Springs and Sherry Harms of Concordia; one son, Shanon Raymond Eckhoff of Sweet Springs; four sisters, JoAnn Meyer of Sweet Springs, Jeanette Koch of Sweet Springs, Patty Lemmons of Sweet Springs and Louise Schnakenberg of Concordia; one brother, Beanie Eugene Eckhoff of Higginsville; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Harms.
