Lelin A. Walker, 82, of Marshall, died Monday, March 13, 2006, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Cremation. Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 16, at First Baptist Church in Marshall. Rev. N. Paul Callahan and Rev. Wayne Doolin will officiate. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Graveside services with military rites will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church Building Fund or The Living Center in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born April 7, 1923, in Preston, he was the son of the late Roscoe and Ina Walker. On May 2, 1944, he married Louise Bartshe, who preceded him in death Aug. 30, 2003. He had lived in Saline County since 1947 and was a farmer. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Franklin Lelin Walker and wife Juanita of Marshall and Alvin Greg Walker and wife Ann of Houston, Texas; one sister, Mary Opal Shrakes of Stillwell, Kan.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wallace and Marcus Walker; and one sister, Sylvia Walker.
