Mary Ellen Samson Williams, 53, of Marshall, died Friday, March 10, 2006, at University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 14, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall. Father Kevin Gormley will officiate. Prayer service will be held at 6 p.m. Monday, March 13, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall with visitation following until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Mt. St. Mary's Cemetery in Shackelford. Pallbearers will be Kevin Mikels, Jeff Mikels, John Hollon, Mathaniel Mullins, Jason Edwards, Brian Hoff, Shawn Huston and Justin Samson. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Mullins, Tom Wyatt, Dale Hayes, Phillip Samson and John Pat Samson. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Nov. 20, 1952, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late John Phillip Samson and Helen Wansing Samson Feik, who survives of Versailles. On May 27, 1972, she married George M. Williams, who survives of the home. She had lived in Marshall her entire life and was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church.
Additional survivors include two daughters, Tiffany A. Williams Horn of Malta Bend and Amanda M. Williams of Marshall; one son, Chris Williams of the home; five sisters, Barbara Taylor of Miami, Elaine Hoff of Pilot Grove, Marlene Edwards of Corder, Bernadette Huston of Cape Girardeau and Saundra Brownfield of Slater; two brothers, Phillip Samson Jr. of Versailles and John Pat Samson of Marshall; four grandchildren; stepfather Alex Feik; and several nieces and nephews.
