Olivia Marie Gotmer, 93, of Salisbury, formerly of rural Gilliam, died Friday, March 3, 2006, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 6, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury. Father William Korte officiated. Music was provided by organist David Sturm and vocalist Connie Boss. Pallbearers were Curtis Bennett, Bryan Bennett, Kevin Fuemmeler, Justin Bennett, Allen Bennett, Brandon Bennett, Jim Leimkuehler and Eugene Hinnah. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to St. Joseph School Foundation, St. Mary's School in Glasgow or St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Born July 27, 1912, in West Glasgow, she was the daughter of the late August B. Nolke and Catherine Olendorff Nolke. On Dec. 26, 1942, in Glasgow, she married John H. Gotmer, who preceded her in death March 16, 1990.
She had lived in rural Gilliam before moving to Salisbury in September 2004. She had worked as a telephone operator and bookkeeper for Mid-Missouri Telephone in Gilliam. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Salisbury and the St. Joseph Altar Sodality in Slater.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane Bennett of Salisbury and Darlene Johnson of Gladstone; one brother, Vernon Nolke of Columbia; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Herbert Nolke, Walter Nolke and Donald Nolke; two sisters, Agnes Granneman and Leona Hackman; and one grandson.
