Delbert "Shorty" Jolliff, 63, of Adrian, died Friday, Feb. 24, 2006, at his home in rural Adrian.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel in Butler. Pastor Ron Dunlap officiated. Burial was in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to Operating Engineers Local Union 101.
Born July 16, 1942, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Jesse William Jolliff and Nora Katherine Gordon Jolliff. On Feb. 20, 1976, he married Alice Zimmerschied, who survives of the home. He grew up in Marshall and worked for W.B. Young in Marshall. He later worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Reike Brothers and was a member of Operating Engineers Local Union 101. He retired in August 2004.
Additional survivors include two sons, Jesse Jolliff of Belton and Elmer Jolliff of Adrian; three daughters, Karen Jolliff of Sunrise Beach, Jessica Talley and Ida Jolliff, both of Butler; two brothers, Howard Jolliff and Rick Jolliff, both of Marshall; two sisters, Sue Stromer and Sheila Newman, both of Kansas City; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Bonnie Schull.
