Kenneth Gene Rivard, 52, of Sebring, Fla., died Thursday, Feb. 23, 2006, in Sebring.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, at Stephenson-Nelson Funeral Home in Sebring. Jim Henry will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lake Placid, Fla., immediately after the services.
Born May 26, 1953, in Pontiac, Mich., he was the son of the late Alex Charles and Mary Alice McInnis Rivard. He was a self-employed building contractor and a member of First Baptist Church in Sebring. He was a graduate of Lake Superior State College and Southern Illinois University and was a veteran of the Vietnam War and Gulf War, serving in the U.S. Navy and U.S. Army National Guard. He was also a member of the American Legion. He had lived in Sebring since 1980, moving from Newberry, Mich.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Uhrig Rivard, formerly of Marshall; two daughters, Christine Mary Rivard of Sarasota, Fla., and Megan Patricia Rivard of Sebring; two sons, Jason Allen Rivard of the state of Nebraska and Alex Joseph Rivard of Sebring; two brothers, Mark Rivard of Zolfo Springs, Fla., and Rick Rivard of the state of Texas; and one sister, Sherry Painter of the state of Michigan.
