Nellie M. Hurt, 86, of Blackburn, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2006, at the Good Shepherd Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 24, at Sweeney-Reser-Wills Funeral Home in Marshall. Deacon Joe Mitchell will officiate. Organist Ramona Bullington will play "Amazing Grace," "How Great Thou Art" and "On Eagles' Wings." Pallbearers will be Drew Hurt, Eric Pearman, Bobby Salmon, Dave Salmon, Junior Salmon and Jim Sleeper. Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall.
Born Nov. 25, 1919, at Corning, Ark., she was the daughter of the late George and Bess Kerr Pulliam. On Oct. 28, 1930, at Corning, Ark., she married Donald L. Hurt, who preceded her in death June 6, 1998. She and her husband had farmed and lived in many states before moving to Blackburn in 1976.
Survivors include one son, Diamond R. Hurt of Waverly; one daughter, Patsy M. Salmon of Blackburn; one brother, Dewey Pulliam of Corning, Ark.; one sister, Dorothy Shepherd of Doniphan; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Eugene L. Hurt.
