G.B. Wright, 76, of Marshall, formerly of Brunswick, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, at Gibson Funeral Home in Brunswick. Rev. Lanny Lybarger will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chad and Neil Duncan, Butch Skaggs, Wayne King, Jim Straub and Richard Woodson. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery at DeWitt. Memorials are suggested to the Evergreen Cemetery Road Fund.
Born May 7, 1929, at Dover, he was the son of the late Amos E. and Margaret Cook Wright. On May 12, 1951, at Brunswick, he married Ruth Arlene Marquess, who survives of the home. He graduated from Brunswick High School in 1949. He had worked for Mid-Continent Telephone Corporation for 30 years before retiring as vice president. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Ohio, attended Methodist church and was a former member of the Brunswick Volunteer Fire Department.
Additional survivors include one daughter, Tory Antonucci of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sisters, Dorothy Darveau of Garden City, Kan., Nina K. Skaggs Hensiek of Kansas City and Betty Jane Straub of Marceline; three brothers, Amos Wright Jr. of Brunswick, Jim Wright of Mound City, Kan., and Bud Hutchings of Brunswick; one grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Kelly Aaron Wright, and one brother-in-law.
