Alice Mae Roe, 84, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2006, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery near Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.
Born Nov. 19, 1921, in Wheatland, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin Lurten and Emma Jane Long Lurten. On Feb. 9, 1940, she married George Thomas Roe, who preceded her in death in 1985. She had lived in Marshall since 1998 and had been a nurses' aide, worked at Banquet Foods in Marshall and was a homemaker. She was a Baptist.
Survivors include two daughters, Rosella Carter of Marshall and Violet Johnson of Versailles; one son, Kenneth Roe of Marshall; four sisters, Asllee Phillips of Louisburg, Bette Wright of Wheatland, Vera George of Kansas City and Ellen Sparks of Wheatland; five brothers, Sidney Lurten and Jim Lurten, both of El Dorado Springs, Gene Lurten of Nevada, Orby Lurten of Boonville and Buddy Lurten of Independence; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two daughters in infancy, one son and two grandsons.
