State of Saline County in March

Ron Ott, Marshall Lions Club president, and Bonnie Humphrey, Missouri Valley College president, announced the Lions Club of Marshall will host the Second Annual State of Saline County Report March 15 on the Missouri Valley College campus.

According to Ott, the goal is to provide leaders and citizens with a clear assessment of Saline County's progress, problems and potential.

In addition to the activities listed below, state Sen. Bill Stouffer, R-Napton, has invited representatives from Onshore Technologies who will share information concerning fiber optics, job creations and economic growth as part of a program titled "Cultivating Rural Missouri."

Who: Panel with knowledgeable county/city leaders: public is invited

What: State of Saline County -- current status and where the county is going. Activities include poster exhibits, free hors d' oeuvres and a panel discussion.

Where: Missouri Valley College's Eckilson-Mabee Theatre.

When: March 15, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

Why: Saline County's people and potential prosperity as seen through the eyes of a variety of capable leaders can lead to solutions and growth.
