Mildred Duncan Cornett, 82, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2006, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. William W. Harlow will officiate. Pallbearers will be Chad Cornett, John Allison, Justin Scharnhorst, Robert Scharnhorst, Tom Duncan, Bill Turner and Leon Phillips. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 2, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice.

Born April 13, 1923, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late William Duncan and Ola Fetty Duncan. She returned to Marshall in 1971 and was a member of Southside Assembly of God. She worked at LTV Airplane Manufacturing Co. in Dallas, Texas, at General Dynamics of Houston, Texas, and retired from the Marshall Habilitation Center after nine years of service. She was a member of the Foster Grandparent Program.

Survivors include two daughters, Ruth Ann Hammons and Sandra Allison, both of Marshall; three sons, Henry R. Cornett of Palestine, Texas, and Ron Cornett and Don Cornett both of Arlington, Texas; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a brother, Ben Duncan of Northglenn, Colo.; several nieces and nephews; and her caregiver, Paula Stahl.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, five sisters, one brother and three brothers in infancy.
