Lydia Lee Hammer, 79, of Bates City, died Friday, Jan. 27, 2006, at St. Mary's Hospital in Blue Springs.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Royer Funeral Home in Oak Grove. Burial was in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Born March 12, 1926, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ada Land Hinton. In 1972 she married James Hammer, who preceded her in death in 1999. She had been employed at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant, the Ben Franklin store in Oak Grove and Cigarette City in Bates City. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Oak Grove.
Survivors include four daughters, Kaye Southard of Prairie Home, Shirley Vann-Buck of St. Joseph, Peggy Lee Crane of Columbia and Vickie Thornton of Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Brad Dametz of Bates City; two sisters, Georgia Yates of Marshall and Norma Morrow of Pittsburg; one brother, Roy Lee Hinton Jr. of Marshall; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.
