Charles V. Scott, 92, of rural Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2006, at I-70 Medical Center in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs. William W. Harlow will officiate. Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Memorials are suggested to I-70 Medical Center.
Born July 9, 1913, in Saline County, he was the son of the late Jamie J. Scott and Minnie Thompson Scott. On Sept. 24, 1934, he married Lora Bell Ballenger, who preceded him in death on Nov. 8, 2003. He had lived in the Sweet Springs area his entire life and was a farmer. He retired from Banquet Foods in Marshall, where he worked in maintenance. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. "Sonny" Scott of rural Sweet Springs and Larry C. Scott of rural Sweet Springs; two grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a son in infancy, four brothers and one sister.
