Wilbert H. Dittmer, 80, of Sweet Springs, died Sunday, Jan. 8, 2006, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, at Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia. Rev. Jerry Basye will officiate. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, with visitation from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery in Concordia. Memorials are suggested to Bethel United Church of Christ or Bethel Cemetery.
Born April 15, 1925, in Concordia, he was the son of the late Albert Dittmer and Helena Steffens Dittmer. On Dec. 20, 1952, he married Laverne Dankenbring, who survives of the home. He was a member of Bethel Unted Church of Christ and had lived in the Sweet Springs community since 1976, moving from Blackburn. He was a retired farmer and also worked for George's Heating and Cooling in Marshall. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Spiroff of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Brenda Rader of Independence; one brother, Omar Dittmer of Sweet Springs; two sisters, Erna Thompson of LaMonte and Helen Gehrken of rural Sweet Springs; one granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Dittmer, Alverna Vogt and Esther Willard.
