Uel L. "Dewey" McKinney Jr., 79, of Marshall, died Saturday, Jan. 7, 2006, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 12, 2006, at First Christian Church in Marshall. Rev. Mike Brown will officiate. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church or the American Cancer Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall
Born July 12, 1926, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Uel L. McKinney Sr. and Elizabeth Alexander McKinney. On March 11, 1950, he married Joanne "Jo" Orear, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall his entire life and was a graduate of Missouri Valley College. He was co-owner/operator of McKinney Motor Company and was an insurance agent for BMA. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall.
Additional survivors include four sons, Mike McKinney and wife Ligia of Columbia, Les McKinney and wife Cindy of Marshall, David McKinney and wife Marie of Charleston, S.C., and Pat McKinney and wife Susannah of New Orleans, La.; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Charles D. McKinney, and a sister, Elizabeth Doyle.
